Tattoo gallery - Get The Best Lower Back Tattoo Flash

Posted in on

Having lower back tattoo flash is gaining its popularity until now. More and more people, women to be specific, are choosing their lower back for their tattoo designs because it gives a sexy look on them. Tattoos are representations of the unique individual characteristics of a person and when placed on the lower back, these characteristics are drawn out more intense.

You can search a large number of tattoo designs from the various sources and it is a fact that an individual can easily show his or her characters though these unique symbols. Celtic, butterfly, flower and the tribal tattoo designs are only some of the lower back tattoo designs that are commonly preferred.

Celts have made their tattoos very unique and they designed their tattoos making use of twisted lines and geometrical shapes. Ancient Celts have used the symbols of knots and cross as their mark. The celtic knot tattoos were said to symbolize death and rebirth as these are patterned where the starting point and the end point are not recognized.

The tribal tattoos are a collection of the unique tattoo designs of the ancient tribes all over the world and the works of the present tribes that are still existing. The tribal tattoo designs that were styled by tribes have rapt the eyes of many tattoo artists. Modern tribal tattoos are shaded in black and white and in various colors and are based from the early tribal tattoo designs like the Aztecs, Indian and Hawaiian. Tribes used tattoos for the purpose of identification to easily track membersof their tribes and to know what social class someone belongs to.

The butterfly designs are also famous among people who appreciate tattoo as a body art. One of the reasons that made them like this symbol is its colorful image. When this design is perfectly marked on the lower back of women, she will look sexier.

Flower designs on lower backs have also become popular nowadays because of its colorful designs and implications. For instance, love is the symbol for rose, pure heart for water lilies, innocence for daisy and many more.

When you want other designs, there are still a lot available. You can begin looking at the internet, tattoo magazines, and other database. You may want to try asking the local tattoo shops on your place and ask for the best lower back tattoo designs.

The lower back tattoo flash designs could be hard to find. Choose the tattoo that you really want because this will represent you for a long time and this is not only for display as you tell people that tattooing is an art .

Tattoo gallery - What Is Chinese Tattoo Flash?

These days, the most popular tattoo design that most tattoo enthusiasts look for is the Chinese tattoo flash.

However, this does not appear to be a surprise because the Chinese tattoo flash designs are really so wonderful. But there are always a lot of other reasons why this is the most sought tattoo design these days by most people. For example, women choose to have this symbol because it signifies love, hope and freedom while the men prefer this because it has something to do with martial arts. Above all these reasons, people love this tattoo design because its plainness and simplicity still remains despite of its abundance of meanings.

The Chinese have started tattooing 4 000 years ago ever since they have first written their characters in symbols as a replacement for alphabets. The Kangxi which the Chinese called as their dictionary of symbols have roughly 50, 000 symbols then after that it has increased to about 70, 000 and still continue to increase.

The term that the Chinese used to describe these symbols is Kanji where some symbols have Japanese meanings adapted into them. These characters have the same connotations but are pronounced differently, the ideas expressed by these symbols are different as well.

If you really want your name to converted into a Chinese character and tattoo it on your skin, here are some suggestions for you to read on. First, do not be surprised when your last name comes first before your first name because this is the means Chinese write their names. Second, when your name is not familiar to the Chinese language, then a specific symbol will be picked just to represent your name.

The way of Chinese tattooing is very complicated, as stated earlier in this article, and if you are very much interested in getting one then you have to make certain that the symbol you have chosen has been translated perfectly. Before letting your tattooist ink your body, it is important that you have discussed your chosen design to your tattooist first. You must choose a tattooist that knows the individual meaning of every Chinese tattoo symbol so as to prevent any mistake or misinterpretation.

Moreover, you have to give your tattooist the best custom design that you have selected. You have to keep in mind that this design must be clear in a manner that your artist could easily understand it. If you have given your artist a bad design, then you only end up regretting for sure.

The use of Chinese tattoo flash symbols is only a way to signify ones character and every human being have chosen this because they have their own reason. And the chief reason why Chinese tattoo designs are most favored is because of its simplicity which conveys a variety emotions.

Chinese symbols are really so appealing. To help you find chinese symbolos tattoo designs , I have reviewed the top 3 tattoo galleries available online, you can check out the reviews by visiting my blog The Best Tattoos

Tattoo gallery - Traditional Japanese Tattooing

Traditional Japanese Tattooing
By Kazuo Oguri
Translated by Mieko Yamada
(All artwork and photos Copyright Kazuo Oguri )

Oguri, known in Japan as Horihide, his tattooing name, is a famous artist and highly regarded as the pioneer that brought Japanese tattooing to Sailor Jerry, and subsequently Ed Hardy, after World War Two. Thus setting the stage for large Asian body suit tattoo design to change the face of western tattooing in the last half of the twenty first century. Here in his own words is his story.

When I was an apprentice, feudal customs still existed in Japan. The apprenticeship was one of the feudal customs called uchideshi in Japanese. Normally, pupils lived with their masters, and were trained for 5 years. After 5-year training, the pupils worked independently, and gave the masters money that he earned for one year. The one-year service was called oreiboko in Japanese, the service to express the gratitude towards the masters. The masters usually told new pupils about this system, 5-year-training and 1-year service, when they began the apprenticeship.

Tattoo gallery - Tattoos.com Ezine launches Help page for Tattoo Website Designers

Tattoo Studios and Artists
your online presence
- by Damian McGrath

This page is free for tattoo artists and studios to use as a basic guide to making your life easier when it comes to getting more people to find you online for tattoo work and keeping your info up to date with a minimal of headaches. Use what you like, and email us any additions, suggestions or feedback you may have.

Tattoos.com has been designing and hosting websites for tattoo studios and artists since 1995. Over the years we have learned a few things that can make you get more relevent traffic for your website, and make it easier for people to find you and keep in touch or recieve updates. Specifically we are talking about maintaining your online presence, which is to say, your career as a tattoo artist or studio owner and how to use online tools to assist you.

This means separating your personal life online from your career online, and maintaining your online career presence as a regular part of your work. Don't be intimidated by this, it is simple to manage it and maintain it yourself and once you are used to doing it on a regular basis it really shouldn't seem like work at all.

This help page, created by Tattoos.com, will attempt to cover a range of topics that will hopfully serve as a jumping off point for artists and studios to use as a basic guide to achieving a successful and manageable online career presence. We will cover how to make your website valuable, utilizing great online tools such as gmail, keywords on your website, social networking and registering your social network name, sizing your photos properly, and uploading them to sites to get more traffic and lastly keeping everything updated with a minimal amount of work and misery for you.

DO I NEED A WEBSITE?

If I was asked this question in 1995 I would have told you definitely. It was the future, either you were part of the steamroller or part of the road. Fifteen years later, not so much. You can get by with a myspace and a facebook. However, consider the fact that you are branding yourself to myspace and facebook and basically enslaving yourself to their rules and following the direction they want you to go in more or less. So I still strongly suggest if you want to maintain and control who and what you are online then the best way to do that is still set up a website and maintain it yourself, it is not that costly or that difficult. For those of you that don't have a website and want to set one up we'd be happy to set one up for you, (plus all the extras you get from Tattoos.com like tech support and traffic from us). If you want to set up your own site, we will have some tips posted here to guide you on the next revision of this page (any day now, promise).

HOW TO MAKE YOUR WEBSITE VALUABLE - follow these three simple rules.

Target a specific audience - For a tattoo artist or studio, your audience online consists of mainly two groups, your peers, or fellow artists, and your potential or current customers. Your website and social networking sites, (Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc...) are great tools for maintaining contact with your audience and for you to maintain contact and see what your fellow artists are up to. Utilizing your website and networking tools to communicate with this audience is a simple matter that shouldn't take up too much of your time. You don't have to be rocket scientist to do all this yourself, you just need a basic working knowledge of computers and the internet. Later on this page, we will get more in depth on how to use the website and networking tools to achieve this objective.

Make your information valuable - Once again your fellow tattoo artits and potential clients are the ones who find your information as an artist valuable. That information of course consists of most importantly, your most recent work, which is an ongoing showcase of your skills and level as a tattoo artist. The other information would be where you are working, how to arrange for an appointment with you, where you will be traveling to work, ie. conventions, or what artists or guests may be coming to work with you. Keeping this information fresh and up to date is key to its value. What is not valuable, is an extensive gallery of the last shop BBQ where the piercing apprentice got wasted and video clips of shooting off semi-automatic weapons in the local dump. Stick to the tattoo stuff really.

Update your information - Tying this all together is the two-ton elephant in the room, keeping your information updated. So you built a website, so you started a twitter page and you are on the Facebook, but you don't update your website and you don't tweet and you hate the facebook because the news feeds consist of an aunt you haven't seen in 20 years announcing she is making a cup of tea. However, you will find if you don't try to bite off too much to chew, you can tie together website updates and social network updates and all of these pages can speak to each other and you can update just one of them, depending on what's appropriate, be it a tweet, a new facebook album or an event on myspace and without too much effort and it can automatically be updated on other networks. You can then let your fellow artists and customers know what's going on with your ever advancing at a breakneck speed career as a tattooist.

If you do not have a website, Tattoos.com is all about setting one up and hosting it for you as well as assisting you in it's design or maintenance, for everyone from the individual artists to the largest of studios. If you have an existing website, and want us to assist in maintenance or even just help you get more traffic to your website, just email us at mcgrath.damian

Tattoo gallery - Tattoos.com Interview with Nick Chaboya

This past summer while I was on the road with Tattoos.com I got a chance to meet California Tattoo Artist Nick Chaboya at the Edmonton Tattoo & Arts Festival. I had heard his name bounced around by several artists but really hadn’t seen his work. His tattoo work had a distinct style and bold contrast, it drew me in. We got to hang out some and I took an instant shine to his laid back, open attitude and friendly demeanor. Recently I caught up with him...

D - So let's start with the most obvious question, how long you been tattooing?

Nick  - Tattooing seven years

D - It's pretty obvious from the artwork I've seen and what's online that art was something that has been in your life long before tattooing.

Nick - Yeah, I started painting as a kid, in china with my grandma in the seniors center at around age five, and it went from there, art classes right through school, and on to college to get a Bachelors degree in fine arts from the California College of the Arts.

D - And how old are you now?

Nick – Twenty nine.

Tattoo gallery - Tattoo Winter Getaways for 2010

As we settle in to our winter blahs, holding in our disdain for the endless masses of sheep perusing the malls under the hypnotic guise of Bing Crosby Christmas lullabies being remixed by cartoon squirrels, our thoughts turn to escaping the mindless masses, and joining instead our tattooed brethren to exchange ink or convention war stories, or to enjoy each others company and create a few more good times. As a tribute to the wandering tattooed soul, here we have assembled what we think of as some of the best tattoo getaways after enduring another Holiday season to break up the winter with a tattoo getaway.

Tattoo gallery - Tattoos.com Interview with Tattooist Glen Paradis

Canadian Tattoo Artist Glen Paradis has been a fixture at New Moon Tattoo for 7 years now. I had met him at several conventions over the years but didn't get a chance to get to know the artist that well until 2008 when he made a road trip with myself, Dan Allaston, Paul Booth, Bob Tyrrell, Kurt Wiscombe, Jack Rudy and a few other artists to Beijing, China for a couple of weeks.

I got to watch him tattoo, and do the social gesturing with the Local artists as well as have him entertain us all with his penchant for car jacking small chinese forms of transportation, much to our amusement, throughout the entire trip.

His artwork can be seen at Newmoontattoo.com and at glenparadis.com and he also did the poster for the 12th Annual Northern Ink Xposure, Toronto's international tattoo convention.

Tattoo gallery - Tattoos.com Interview with Tattoo Artist Mike Austin

Mike Austin began his journey in 1987, designing flash for a local tattoo studio which led to tattooing a short time later. In time he realized there was a growing need to offer people custom designed tattoos instead of the typical pre-drawn designs hanging on the walls of every tattoo studio, in every city, in every country. With that thought in mind, he opened his own studio in London, Ontario in 1992.

This was at a time when custom designed tattoos were virtually unheard of with the exception of a handful of leading tattoo artists. With time, Mike turned his business into a family based one, bringing in sister Leah as manager in 1997 and apprenticing brother John in 1997. Everyone at the studio is extremely proud of how successful the business has become over the years, constantly striving to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while still managing to be creative and original.

Tattoo gallery - Holiday Gifts for the Tattoo Enthusiast

.

It's almost that crazy time of year again and in just a couple of weeks, you'll be begging not to have to leave the comfort of your own home to fight that angry mob of last minute Christmas shoppers. Tattoos.com wants to make your Christmas shopping a hell of a lot easier this year by giving you some ideas on what to get those tattoo enthusiasts we all know and love.

Oh and one quick tip, if you are not a tattoo person and you are buying for a tattoo artist or collector, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T GET THEM ANY ED HARDY CHRISTIAN AUDIGIER CLOTHING. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY NON-TATTOOED DOUCHE BAGS WALKING THE EARTH IN THIS STUFF ALREADY. Even Don Ed Hardy knows people wearing that Ed Hardy Cristian Audigier stuff are douche bags or he wouldn't be suing him.

The one thing about most tattoo artists and enthusiasts is that they have a strong sense of individual self expression and aren't the type of person that will go gaga for the latest shirt and sweater ensemble from Old Navy. We are artistic, quirky, rebellious types that keep off the beaten path. That said, the internet abounds with original designers and craftsmen/women that are churning out some really cool one off tattoo related designs.

Tattoo gallery - Tattoos.com publishes a tep by step guide for tattooists to add their studios to google maps.

Tattoo Studios and Artists
your online presence
Setting up Google Maps and Google Analytics for your site.
- by Damian McGrath

This page is a step by step guide for how to set up your studio on google maps and set up google analytics to track your website's traffic and visitor data. The Maps function will serve to have you easily found on google searches for your studios location. Analytics will tell you information about who is finding you, how they are finding you, where they are going on your website and how long they are spending on your site amongst other things. This page is meant to be used as part of the info we present for tattoo artists and studios wanting to maintain an online presence.

If you have any questions or need any assistance, if you are a tattoos.com client you can email us or call our Toronto office at 1-800-214-7104 or 416-203-7399 for clients outside N. America

Setting up Google Maps

As will be shown in the images below, are step by step directions in setting up your studio to be properly found in Google Maps. The first step is to go to google.com and simply type in tattoo studios in MY CITY, whatever the nearest city or town your studio is in. If you have multiple studios in multiple locations then it is best to go through this process for each location, once your first business is set up you can easily log in and add additional businesses. For our example here we have set up one of our clients studios we host in Toronto, Canada, Lower East Side Tattoo.

The first panel below shows how we log on to google and simply type a request in for tattoo studios in a specific area.

Panel one.

Tattoo gallery - Interview with Alex Adams.

Interview with Alex Adams
by Sarah De Schiffert

Alex Adams is currently Tattooing at Tattoos for the Individual, a studio she established with her husband Kurt Wiscombe in the early nineties. She is a tattooer, a painter, and now co-owner of the Skull and Bones Gallery, which opened in the summer of 2009. Her tireless dedication to tattooing and art is seen through her travel to conventions around the world and her non stop production both in and out of the studio and gallery.

Sarah: So you've been tattooing since the early 90's, but judging by your work, it seems you've been an artist a lot longer. How long have you been drawing or painting?

Tattoo gallery - The Death of the Yellow Pages?

Tattoos.com takes a closer look at how Tattoo Studios are spending their money on yellow pages and if it's time to rethink traditional print advertising VS. online marketing.

For tattoo artists and studio owners the last decade has been a roller coaster ride. We entered 2000 with tattoo art as king. It reigned supreme. The first decade of the new millenia saw "Reality" shows about tattoos launch almost every year worldwide and Ed Hardy became a household name as a fashion icon even though most people had no clue who he really was. Tattooing was hot, hotter than ever, and professional established studios basked in the glory. However, the global recession that hit near the end of decade had an all to obvious effect on luxury items.

As tattooists hunkered down for the economic downturn they started to look more closely at where they were spending there advertising dollars. Traditionally the biggest bucks went to the local yellow pages. Stu Kay, artist, studio owner, and co-founder of tattoos.com wonders are the yellow pages days numbered? "When I registered the tattoos.com domain and the domains for my studios in Toronto back in 1995, the seed was planted that online was going to be a way clients find you in the future. But today it's undeniable, there's a new era in communication not only between artists and clients but between artists and the entire support network for the tattoo community that seems to use the web and social media to communicate". This has made Stu rethink his budgets for the studios. In the coming year he will be taking more of that yellow pages advertising and reinvest it in online advertising instead.

We recently set up google analytics for one of Stu Kay's studios, Lower East Side Tattoo in Toronto's east end. Google Analytics is a free program that is relatively easy to set up for anybody with basic computer skills. It tracks how many people visit your website, how they got to your website and what they look at on your site, plus a whole lot of other important information that is valuable for any studio owner., Tattoos.com has posted step by step instructions on how to set it up on our "Tips" page for tattoo studios. We also setup Lower East side on Google Maps before we set up the analytics program so we could easily show potential clients looking for a tattooist in their area how to get to the studio. The screenshots below from the google Analytics interface show how many clients are visiting Lower East Sides website on a daily basis. As you can see we installed the software in mid December and, withthe exception of a couple of of slower days, which was while everyone was off doing there last minute christmas shopping, the website for the studio typically gets between 45-90 visitors online per day.

Tattoo gallery - Tattoos.com has new photos from the Tattoo Dome

 Tattoos.com WTF?

April 23rd - What can your tattoo do for you? In this case, a tattoo can you save your life.

A Microsoft researcher has suggested tattooing passwords on patients with pacemakers and other implanted medical devices to ensure the remotely-controlled gadgets can be accessed during emergencies.

Stuart Schechter, of Microsoft Research, proposed that access to such devices be controlled with encryption similar to what's used on wi-fi networks. Access keys would then be tattooed on patients using ink that's invisible under most conditions. Equipment used to remotely communicate with the implanted devices would be equipped with an ultraviolet light and a keypad or touchscreen for transmitting the code.

Tattoo gallery - New Artists and updates to the Beijing International Tattoo Convention

China International Tattoo & Art Convention on Facebook Langfang International Conference & Exhibition Center
LFDZ, Hebei Province
International Conference & Exhibition Center
Langfang, Hebei
China 065001

Here is the basic itinerary for the Beijing Tattoo Convention in May of 2010, based on a week long stay.

Here is the event website for the China Associtation of Tattoo Artists.

Wednesday, May 26 -arrive: China Assoc. of Tattooists will meet you at the airport and transport you to the hotel in downtown Beijing, just a short walk form the forbidden city. A meet and greet dinner with the artists will take place around 9PM

Thursday, May 27 - During the day, artists will visit the Forbiden City, artists luggage will be transported by the China Assoc. of Tattooists to the convention hotel, later we will travel to the Lang Fang, the convention area just outside Beijing. CATA will provide artist transportation that evening. Artists will have a dinner and reception that night at the hotel.

Friday, May 28 - Set up for the convention, opening 9am - 5pm, CATA will transport artists to the venue daily, a ten minute drive from the hotel. Once again, the evening is comprised of a lot of eating and drinking, a nightly occurence.

Saturday, May 29 - Convention from 9am-5pm

Sunday, May 30 - Convention from 9am-5pm, followed by the well deserved after party. Local artists from Asia really enjoy hosting giant dinners and it is nearly impossible to pay for your own meals, as they enjoy treating you to good food and drink, however food and drink is so inexpensive, to buy dinner and drinks for a large crowd, a dozen or so, is still often under a hundred dollars.

Monday, May 31 - Artists will checkout of the convention hotel and go back to downtown Beijing, where you can do some shopping and see more of the city. CATA will once again provide transportation of artists and luggage.

Tuesday, June 1 - Take a tour of the Old Great Wall.

Wednesday, June 2 - The artists will then leave to go back home.

For artists who will require transportation to and from the convention, the China Association of Tattoo Artists will be available to pick you up and bring you to your hotel. Booth price is $500 US, you can call Tattoos.com to arrange for your booth, 416-203-7399. Or you can email Damian McGrath at dmcgrath

Tattoo gallery - New Celebrity Watch Article

Tattoos.com celebrity watch...

Feb. 26th - Why is Nicole Richie so afraid of her kids getting tattooed? Going as far as saying she would be "heartbroken" if her two small children grew up in their daddy, Joel Madden's, (who is the lead vocalist for the pop punk band Good Charlotte ) footsteps - where he has full sleeves and who knows what else. While she herself has her own collection of small tattoos.

What ever the case, her new rule for her children is not getting tattooed until they are at the age of 18. Maybe she got a few tattoos under the age of 18 that she totally regrets now. Either way, little Harlow and Sparrow have to be 18 to get inked if they so desired.

Hey wait a minute, isn't it by law you can't tattoo under the age of 18 anyway's? At least not with parental consent. So whose rule is it anyway? That all said, I wonder if she will have the same rule for Heroin?

Tattoo gallery - New photos and videos from Taipei

Here is the official website.

Tattoos.com was in Taiwan to attend the 2010 Taiwan International Tattoo Convention. We had a great time and the host studio, Kevin's Tattoo in Taipei and his entire staff treated the artists like a part of their tattoo family. Asking us out to the local flea markets, night markets, and restaurants for traditional meals, treating us to great drink, eats and even ice cream. They organized the first true international convention in Taipei. Tattoo artists from Asia, Europe, South Africa, Australia and North America came together to produce work that was traditional and modern with influences from so many cultural backgrounds. We have a ton of photos and videos we took before and during the show and are sharing them all with you here. So enjoy and see you in Taipei next year.
